Cornel Bronze

$22.00

In my experience Cornel Bronze is hands down the most productive and long-lasting Dahlia. A true workhorse on strong, sturdy stems, this variety will pump out blooms all season long. This ball-form Dahlia is true to its name and is the most incredible coppery bronze color. You’ll get lost in her symmetrical petals!

Plant height = 36”-42”

Order is for TWO TUBERS

Tubers will she shipped according to growing zones to avoid freezing while in transit. Tuber sizes and shapes vary. We only sell viable tubers with an intact eye (which may or may not be budded up and visible when shipped).

Planting Information:

In a spot that gets full sun, in soil with good drainage, dig a hole about 4” deep and lay your tuber horizontally with the eye/growth facing up, then cover back up with soil. Do NOT WATER until green growth has emerged from the soil, otherwise your tuber may rot! If you are planting multiple tubers/plants you’ll want to space them about 12”-18” apart as these plants get big and will need the space.

When your plant is about 12”-18” tall be sure to pinch as this will give you many more stems, which means lots more blooms!

* How to pinch: from the bottom of the plant count up to the 4th set of leaves - above that point you want to snip/pinch out the center (apical) stem. Go ahead, just snip it off! Trust me, you will be rewarded for this. Don’t be afraid.

Harvesting information:

Dahlias do not have a super long vase life, once cut. You can typically expect about 5-6 days before they start to turn. To get the most out of your cut-Dahlia be sure to harvest in the cool of the morning with clean, sharp snips, and look for blooms that are about 3/4 of the way open. It’s helpful to look at the back of the bloom and you want it to almost look flat (as opposed to the petals curling and reaching backwards). The petals should be firm and plump, not thin and papery.
