I’m Stephanie Bennett, the proud owner & operator of Echo Rock Flowers in Westerly, Rhode Island.

oUR story

After helping to conceive, open, and run The Malted Barley with my husband, Colin, in downtown Westerly in 2011, I shifted my focus to raising our two boys. As they grew older and life with young children became a little less demanding, I began to ask myself what might come next.

I paid attention to the questions that kept resurfacing: Where do I feel most at ease when I’m not with my family or friends? What kind of work makes the hours pass quickly, even when it’s repetitive or messy?

The answer was always the same - I’m happiest when I’m outside with my hands in the dirt.

And when I looked at what I genuinely loved growing, cutting, arranging, and sharing, the answer was just as clear: FLOWERS. It became obvious that this is the work I’m meant to do. And honestly, the world can always use a little more beauty and color, right?!

So I began to set my sights on one day growing cut flowers for market in the fall of 2017. In the winter of 2019 I decided to officially launch Echo Rock Flowers.

To date we are growing on about 1.3 acres of combined land and we are thrilled to work with The Westerly Land Trust where most of our crops happily grow at the Barlow Preserve (449 Westerly Bradford Road).

In 2023, after 12 years of operation, we closed the restaurant. This year we are entering our 8th year in business and are overjoyed to continue growing and providing the community with our gorgeous, local flowers. We plan to take on more wedding work, maintain our subscription program and offer more workshops and events at the farm in 2026. Thank you for following along!
